Thank you for joining me in this discussion forum for internal knowledge and practices. We are very interested in your ideas on how we should enhance our knowledge base and what kind of processes you think we should put in place to improve our knowledge base. We have many management issues we want to discuss with you. Your ideas can help shape our future, so please let us know what your thoughts are on these issues. I look forward participating in this discussion with you.

Internal knowledge and practices

[from Richard Griffin, 6 May, 08:30am]

Starter questions

1 What tools do we need internally at Griffin to enhance our knowledge base?
Do we need software, hardware or training?

2 What processes do we need to put in place to improve the knowledge base?
How can we share or recycle information more efficiently, cutting down on the time we need to take to find information?

3 Can an organization reduce its cost through greater knowledge? And if so, what knowledge do we at Griffin need to enhance the decision making process and create competitive advantage? Can we reduce the need for calls, emails or administration?

4 How can we motivate staff to unlock the knowledge in their heads and share it with others?
